LKM 7000 SERIES SERVICE
We are able to: Repair, service, install and diagnose problems with the LKM 7000 Series.
The four photographs of the LKM 7003 X-09 key override are typical installation problems found by David.
The top two are: To much grease in the lock, too much red lock tight was used and it migrated inside the lock, not to mention it was nearly impossible to remove the lock from the door.
The bottom two photographs are: The lock is not even with the door causing the number two strike to rub on the lock, push plates were used for the installation, instead of the factory issued plates, causing the lock mounting surface to be uneven, the aesthetic view of the lock is ugly and the bail was broken, due to the installer not securing the inactive door properly. The other issue was the lock was torque on the door causing the door to compress inward binding the lock. The key override was loose in the door.

An example would be an amateur installing a LKM on a STC (Sound Transmission Class) door incorrectly, the STC door looses its rating and the door would have to be replaced, this would include installing the strike on the frame, the sound seals surrounding the door will need a “Z” bracket, preventing the strike from coming in contact with the seal.
We, at Safetrends have heard excuses from amateur installers that the contractor needs to know the door specification, that they are just installing the lock. At Safetrends give the end user our warranty that the job is done 100% correctly and that we will know the rules and regulations in regards to installing a LKM product on a door and we do not pass the blame onto the contractor.
